Terms of Use

Effective October 19, 2026

The short version: deposits are required, a card stays on file, refunds after a project starts are at our discretion, modifications can affect your warranty, and we film our builds unless you tell us not to in writing. The full details are below.

01About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to everything Peace Rec Offroad offers: this website, our waitlist, online booking, our online store and app, text and email messages, and all work we do on vehicles, boats and equipment at our shop in Chilliwack, British Columbia. In these Terms, "Peace Rec Offroad", "we", "us" and "our" mean [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME], operating as Peace Rec Offroad (Fraser Valley Division). "You" means the person using our website or services, or the owner or authorized agent of the vehicle or boat we work on.

By using our website, joining our waitlist, booking with us, signing a work order or leaving a vehicle or boat with us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services. A signed work order, quote or invoice may include additional terms for a specific job; if it conflicts with these Terms, the signed document applies to that job.

02Quotes, estimates and authorizing work

  • Quotes and estimates are based on the information available when they are prepared. Final costs can change once a vehicle is inspected or disassembled, for example because of seized hardware, rust, hidden damage, previous modifications or parts price changes.
  • We will not perform additional work beyond what you authorized without contacting you first. Authorization can be given in person, by phone, by text, by email or by signing or e-signing a quote or work order, and we will keep a record of it.
  • Diagnostic and inspection time is billable even if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.
  • Parts availability, shipping delays and supplier back-orders are outside our control. Timelines we give you are good-faith estimates, not guarantees.
  • You confirm that you own the vehicle or boat, or are authorized by the owner to request the work.

03Deposits, payment and card on file

Deposits are mandatory for custom builds, lift kits, performance work, marine decking, special-order parts and any project we schedule in advance. Your booking or build slot is not confirmed until the deposit is paid. A valid credit card must be kept on file for every job.
  • Deposit amounts are set on your quote or work order and are applied to your final invoice.
  • By providing a credit card, you authorize us to charge it for the deposit, approved work, parts, applicable taxes, and any fees described in these Terms (such as storage or cancellation fees) that remain unpaid when they are due. We will send you a receipt for every charge.
  • Card details are stored and processed by our payment provider using industry-standard security. We do not keep your full card number on our own systems.
  • Balances are due when the work is complete and before the vehicle or boat is released, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • All prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes, including GST and PST.
  • We may keep possession of a vehicle or boat until all amounts owing for work, parts and storage are paid, as allowed under British Columbia lien legislation.

04Cancellations and refunds

  • If you cancel before any work has started and before any parts have been ordered for you, we will refund your deposit, less any card processing costs we cannot recover.
  • Once a project has started, refunds are at our discretion. A project has started once we have done any work on it, including inspections, measuring, 3D scanning, design, ordering parts or setting aside shop time for your job.
  • Special-order and custom parts, fabricated components, and marine decking that has been designed or cut are non-refundable once ordered or produced.
  • Returns of unused stock parts are subject to the supplier's or manufacturer's return policy and may carry a restocking fee.
  • Labour already performed is not refundable.
  • Store and apparel orders can be returned or exchanged according to the return terms shown at checkout.

05Drop-off, pickup and storage

  • Please remove valuables and personal items before drop-off. We are not responsible for loss of personal property left in a vehicle or boat.
  • We will let you know when your vehicle or boat is ready. Please pick it up within 3 business days of that notice.
  • After that, a daily storage fee may apply. The current rate will be shown on your work order or posted at the shop.
  • We may test drive vehicles and run equipment as needed to diagnose problems and confirm the work.
  • If a vehicle or boat is left with us without payment or contact for an extended period, we may treat it as abandoned and take the steps allowed under British Columbia law, including enforcing our lien.

06Modifications, manufacturer warranty and the law

Please read this carefully. Lift kits, suspension and steering changes, larger wheels and tires, performance tuning, engine and drivetrain upgrades, lighting, accessories and other modifications can affect your vehicle's manufacturer warranty, extended warranty, handling, braking, fuel economy, resale value, insurance and legal status.
  • Manufacturer and extended warranties. Vehicle manufacturers and warranty providers may deny coverage for parts or systems they believe were affected by aftermarket parts or modifications. This applies to new vehicles too. You are responsible for checking how a modification may affect your warranty before you approve the work. Peace Rec Offroad is not responsible for any denial, reduction or loss of manufacturer, dealer or extended warranty coverage that results from work you asked us to do, and is not liable for out-of-warranty repair costs that follow from it.
  • Laws, inspections and insurance. Some modifications, including changes to suspension height, tire size, lighting and exhaust, are limited by British Columbia regulations and may require a provincial inspection or approval. You are responsible for making sure your vehicle stays road-legal, for any inspection it needs, and for telling your insurer (including ICBC) about modifications.
  • Emissions. We do not remove, disable or bypass emissions-control equipment on vehicles that are used on public roads.
  • Driving a modified vehicle. A modified vehicle can handle, brake and behave differently from stock. You agree to drive it with that in mind and to follow any care, re-torque or break-in instructions we give you.
  • Parts you supply. We may agree to install parts you supply, but we do not warranty those parts, their fit or their performance, and labour to remove or replace them is billable.

07Our workmanship and parts warranty

We stand behind our work. Any workmanship warranty we provide will be written on your invoice, including what it covers and for how long. Parts are covered only by the warranty their manufacturer or supplier provides, and we will help you make a claim where we can.

Our workmanship warranty does not cover damage from accidents, off-road use beyond the part's intended rating, abuse, racing, neglect, lack of maintenance, later modifications, or repairs done by someone else. If you think something is wrong with our work, please contact us before having anyone else work on it so we can look at it first.

08Filming, photos and our show

We film. It's part of who we are. Peace Rec Offroad is also a show. We film our shop, our builds, our customers' rigs and our events for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, our website and other media. We take great care to give you a great build, and your build may end up on one of our shows.
  • Your vehicle or boat. By booking with us or leaving your vehicle or boat at our shop or an event, you agree that we may film and photograph it and the work we do on it, and use that footage in our shows, social media, website, advertising and other content, in any media, without payment to you. Vehicles are driven and displayed in public, and this is a core part of how we run our business.
  • Opting out is your call, but you have to tell us. If you do not want your vehicle, boat or build filmed or featured, you must tell us in writing before work begins (on your work order, or by email to support@peacerecoffroad.ca). We will note it on your file and keep your build off camera. If you do not opt out, your consent to filming is given.
  • Plates and VINs. We will blur or hide licence plates and VINs in published content where they are readable.
  • People. Our shop and events may be filmed, and you may appear in the background. We will ask before featuring you in an interview or as a main subject of a video. If you would prefer not to appear, tell us and we will avoid filming you or, where practical, blur or remove you from content before it is published.
  • Ownership. All footage, photos and content we create belong to Peace Rec Offroad. If you later ask us to remove published content that features you or your vehicle, we will consider the request in good faith, but we are not required to remove content that was published while you had not opted out.

09Photos and content you send us

If you upload or send us photos, videos or descriptions of your rig (for example through our waitlist, a quote request or social media), you confirm you have the right to share them. You allow us to use them to prepare quotes and plan your work and, unless you tell us not to, to feature them on our website and social channels with credit to you where practical. You can withdraw that permission for future use at any time by emailing support@peacerecoffroad.ca.

10Email and text messaging

We only send marketing emails and texts to people who have agreed to receive them, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). The details of our text messaging program are below.

Peace Rec Offroad text messages. When you opt in, for example by ticking the text message box on our waitlist or booking form or by texting us, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Peace Rec Offroad at the mobile number you gave us. Messages may include waitlist and opening updates, appointment confirmations and reminders, build updates, quotes and invoices, customer care, and promotions.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. You can also get help at support@peacerecoffroad.ca or 604-814-6398. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • After you reply STOP, we will send one message confirming you have been unsubscribed and will then stop texting that number, except where you contact us again or opt back in.
  • Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribe requests promptly and within 10 business days.
  • Even if you unsubscribe from marketing, we may still contact you about work, bookings, payments or quotes you have asked for.
  • How we handle your mobile number and consent is explained in our Privacy Policy. We never sell or share your mobile number or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

11Using our website, store and app

  • The Peace Rec Offroad name, logos, badges, photos, videos, designs and website content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, sell or reuse them without our written permission.
  • Do not misuse the website: no attempts to hack, scrape, overload or interfere with it, and no false information or spam in our forms.
  • Prices, availability and product information online may change and may contain errors. We may cancel or correct an order affected by an obvious error and refund any amount paid.
  • Links to other websites and platforms are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

12Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Peace Rec Offroad, its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of use of a vehicle or boat, rental or towing costs, lost income or loss of warranty coverage, arising from our website or services. Our total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from information you gave us that was false, parts you supplied, or your use or operation of a vehicle or boat after it leaves our shop.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law that cannot legally be limited or waived.

13Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together will be dealt with by the courts or tribunals of British Columbia, including the Civil Resolution Tribunal where it applies.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Work already authorized is governed by the Terms in effect when you authorized it.
