Privacy Policy

Effective October 19, 2026

We collect what we need to look after you and your rig, we never sell your information, and we never share your mobile number or text messaging consent for anyone else's marketing. Here's exactly how it works.

01Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME], operating as Peace Rec Offroad (Fraser Valley Division) in Chilliwack, British Columbia ("we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. It applies to our website, waitlist, online booking, store and app, our text and email messages, our shop and our events.

We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and, where they apply, other Canadian privacy laws. Our privacy officer is responsible for this policy and can be reached at privacy@peacerecoffroad.ca.

02What we collect

  • Contact details: name, email address, mobile number, mailing address.
  • Vehicle and boat details: make, model, year, VIN or hull number, licence plate, mileage, condition, service history, photos and 3D scans, and the work you are interested in.
  • Booking and transaction details: quotes, work orders, authorizations, invoices and payment history. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor; we do not keep your full card number.
  • Communications: messages, emails, calls and form submissions you send us, and your email and text messaging consent records (what you agreed to, when and how).
  • Photos, video and audio: footage recorded in our shop and at our events, including of vehicles and people, and photos you upload to us. Our premises may also use security cameras.
  • Website data: device and browser information, pages viewed, and similar data collected through cookies and analytics tools.

03How we use it

  • To respond to your waitlist sign-up, questions and quote requests.
  • To book, perform, document and invoice work on your vehicle or boat, and to order parts.
  • To process payments, deposits and refunds, and to charge the card you keep on file as described in our Terms of Use.
  • To send you appointment confirmations, reminders, build updates and customer care messages.
  • To send you news, offers and updates by email or text, only if you have agreed to receive them.
  • To produce our shows and social content, as described in the filming section below.
  • To run and improve our website, services and security, keep business records, and meet our legal, tax and warranty obligations.

05Text messaging and your mobile number

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing described in this policy, and will not be shared with any third parties, except with the service providers that deliver our text messages on our behalf.
  • We only send text messages to numbers that have opted in, for example through the text message box on our waitlist or booking forms.
  • Messages may include waitlist and opening updates, appointment reminders, build updates, quotes and invoices, customer care and promotions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. You can also reach us at support@peacerecoffroad.ca or 604-814-6398.
  • Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us.
  • Our full text messaging terms are in our Terms of Use.

06Email marketing (CASL)

  • We send marketing emails only to people who have given us express consent, or where CASL allows implied consent (for example, after a purchase or an inquiry, for the period the law permits).
  • Every marketing email identifies Peace Rec Offroad, includes our contact information and has a working unsubscribe link.
  • We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
  • We keep records of when and how you gave consent.

07When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business, and only with:

  • Service providers that work on our behalf, such as our customer relationship and booking platform, payment processor, email and text messaging providers, website hosting and analytics, and accounting. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • Parts suppliers, manufacturers and warranty providers, when needed to order parts, process returns or support a warranty claim you ask us to make.
  • Insurers, finance companies or other parties when you ask us to.
  • Professional advisers, and authorities or others where the law requires or allows it, such as to respond to a court order, enforce our rights or protect safety.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized, under confidentiality obligations.

As stated above, mobile numbers and text messaging opt-in data are never shared with third parties for their own marketing.

08Filming, photos and our show

Peace Rec Offroad is also a show. We film our shop, builds and events and publish that content online. As explained in our Terms of Use, vehicles and boats we work on may be filmed and featured unless the owner opts out in writing before work begins.

  • We blur or hide licence plates and VINs in published content where they are readable.
  • We ask before featuring a person in an interview or as a main subject of a video.
  • People may appear in the background of shop and event footage. Notices are posted at our shop and events.
  • To opt out of filming, or to ask us to blur or remove you from content before it is published, email support@peacerecoffroad.ca or tell our team.

09Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers store or process information outside British Columbia and outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its authorities. We choose providers that protect personal information with safeguards comparable to ours.

10How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. For example, invoices and work records are kept for at least the period required for tax and warranty purposes. Waitlist information is kept until you ask us to remove it or it is no longer needed. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

11How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections and reputable service providers, to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you think your information has been put at risk.

12Your rights

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and who it has been shared with.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent, unsubscribe from emails and texts, or opt out of filming.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.

Send requests to privacy@peacerecoffroad.ca. We will respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires, and may need to confirm your identity first.

13Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tools to keep it working, remember your session, understand how visitors use it and measure our marketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

14Young people

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 without a parent or guardian's consent. If you believe a young person has given us information, contact privacy@peacerecoffroad.ca and we will delete it.

15Questions and complaints

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell you before it applies to you.
